The BugHunting Campaign 2024, co-organised by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force and Cyberbay, a cybersecurity start-up, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) as a strategic partner, is a vulnerability identification and remediation campaign. The Closing Ceremony and Awards Gala for the Campaign was held on 26 September 2024 at The Langham, Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui.

To promote corporate participation in cyber security, BugHunting Campaign 2024 has set up an e-badge to be presented to participating organisations that have proactively remedied system vulnerabilities or possessed good cyber security awareness, to recognise their efforts and contributions to building a secure cyber environment. A total of 153 organisations from different sectors participated in the BugHunting Campaign 2024, an increase of more than 1.5 times over the 60 organisations in the previous Campaign, showing that cyber security has become an increasingly important issue in the community. Nearly 30% of participating organisations are start-ups or SMEs, while 10% are NGOs or public bodies. Other sectors include banking and finance, construction, education, food and beverage, healthcare, logistics, real estate, and transport. Among them, 47 organisations, i.e. about one-third, were awarded the e-badge, which is an encouraging result.
