Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force joins hands with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data and a crowdsourced cybersecurity company, Cyberbay, to hold the third annual “BugHunting Campaign” between June and August 2025, aiming to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with enhanced cybersecurity protection and bolster Hong Kong’s overall cybersecurity.
The Campaign leverages a specialized crowdsourced vulnerability detection platform, recruiting experts through bounty rewards to provide local SMEs with free cybersecurity testing. BugHunting 2025 employs AI-powered security assessments, which not only focuses on detecting vulnerabilities within corporate systems but also carries out security audits on AI applications, to prevent data breaches and offer comprehensive protection against emerging cyber threats.
Participating companies will not only receive detailed inspection reports, but they will also gain access to complimentary one-on-one professional consultation services to more effectively address vulnerabilities. Companies that demonstrate a solid cybersecurity foundation or successfully remediate vulnerabilities within the given timeframe will be honored with an official “BugHunting 2025” digital badge, recognizing their commitment to cybersecurity excellence. In addition to cybersecurity scanning, participating companies will gain access to cybersecurity awareness training, empowering employees with the skills to proactively prevent data breaches.
