About CyberDefender
CyberDefender is fully supported by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force. This Project aims at raising citizens’ digital literacy and their awareness of information security risks, online fraud, objectionable materials, in order to avoid cyber pitfalls and to become a smart e-citizen.
CyberDefender provides people from all walks of life with information about cyber security, information security and cybercrime. It also offers security advice and safety tips from a professional perspective. Details are as follows:
- General knowledge of the Internet – explain in a simple way the attitude and netiquette when using the Internet, and discuss various types of information about the new normal of the Internet
- Protect your device and account – recognise the importance of protecting various electronic devices and that of identity verification, and establish self-defense and diagnostic capabilities
- Inappropriate behaviour and objectionable content on the Internet – Be smart when using the Internet and avoid harm caused by improper and bad online behaviour
- Cybercrime – In-depth dismantling of various types of modus operandi in technology crime to enhance the public’s fraud prevention ability
- Page for critical infrastructure – provide support for critical infrastructure to counteract cyber threats
- Activities and resources – provide educational resources, publicity activities and latest information

Through the “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” hotline, the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Hong Kong Police Force provides antii-deception consultation services around the clock. If you suspect that you have fallen prey to a scam, please report the case at the nearest police station. For emergency, dial 999.
